An adventure tour in Costa Rica combining thrills, sport and nature.
This tour is designed for the more adventurous who want to get away from civilization and immerse themselves in Costa Rica’s wilderness.
Whether it’s rafting, trekking, kayaking or canyoning, you’ll experience a life-size adventure in Costa Rica!
What awaits you: 2 rafting descents on the Rio Pacuare, a day of canyoning at the foot of the Arenal volcano, a stroll on the suspension bridges, a swim at the foot of the Fortuna waterfall, a moment of relaxation in the thermal waters of La Fortuna.
On the Central Pacific side, enjoy a quad bike ride to explore the surrounding area. Then, further south, enjoy the seabed of Isla del Caño.
You’ll head even further south to discover the Golfo Dulce by kayak, and finally, you’ll take to the jungle on horseback for a final abseil and climb up a gigantic tree.
Are you up for an adventure?
Day 1 : Villanueva de la Boca del Monte, formerly known as San José, is the capital of Costa Rica. At an altitude of 1,150 m, the city enjoys one of the 3 best climates in the world: 23°C on average! Some districts are worth a visit, such as Barrio Amon, with its neoclassical architecture, and Barrio Escalante, with its many small restaurants.
Since the 1970s, the capital has experienced an economic boom, with suburban expansion and a strong presence of universities. San José, with its 1,500,000 inhabitants, is a cosmopolitan city.
A little disconcerting at first, it’s easy to fall under the spell of this constantly bustling city. A capital full of life and color.
Landing to the airport. A private driver will be waiting for you. You’ll be taken to your hotel where a member of the staff will give you your roadbook. and your SIM card that can fit any smartphone

Days 2 and 3 : The Pacuare is not a tourist destination, but a rare experience. The scenic beauty of the river, the richness of the fauna and the omnipresent jungle make it one of Costa Rica’s most magical places, where rafting to a lodge, sleeping lulled by unfamiliar sounds and the lapping of the river, then meeting the Cabecar Indians is a unique experience. Our customers who have discovered the Pacuare by sleeping there one night still remember it…
Driving time: 02:25 – 120 km
• 2 nights at hotel Rios Lodge
– Accommodation: Pack 3J/2N – River Lane (Hiking or rafting + Meals + Transfers + trails) for 2.

A volcano with the perfect cone of legend makes the Arenal a must-see, and while lava flows ceased in 2009, the steam from the crater and the warmth of the thermal waters clearly indicate that the colossus lives on. The musts remain the suspension bridges and the thermal waters, but a wide range of other natural and/or sporting activities are available to visitors.
Driving time: 03:20 – 177 km
• 2 nights at hotel Fortuna Retreat
– Accommodation: Tropical Forest – 3 rooms for 2.
NB: breakfasts are served nearby, a 5-minute walk away, in the Arenal Oasis ecolodge.
ON THE AGENDA:
• Lost Canyon Adventures – Duration : 4:00 – Déj. inclus : A thrilling half-day combining a variety of activities: abseiling, climbing and canyoning down waterfalls ranging from 10 to 60m in height. Adventure and thrills guaranteed!
• Mistico Hanging Bridges Walk (Self-guided) : Along a series of trails and 16 suspension bridges, you’ll discover the secrets of the forest, a veritable natural sanctuary where you can observe the many species that inhabit the area, both in the trees and on the ground. There are 3 trail options: 3.1 km, 2 km and 1.2 km.
Day 6 : Close to the capital, the region is lined with some beautiful beaches ideal for relaxing and surfing.
But it’s the Carara National Park, with its pairs of macaws, that attracts the most tourists, and the Tarcoles River, home to a colony of American crocodiles, some as long as 6 meters!
At sunrise and sunset, thousands of birds fly in to search for food in the morning or return home at the end of the day.
It’s a transition between tropical dry and humid forests, hence its biodiversity.
One of the country’s most beautiful waterfalls, Bijagual, is accessible to good walkers.
Driving time: 03:25 – 123 km
• 1 night at hotel Rancho Capulin B&B
– Accommodation: La Terraza for 2.
ON THE AGENDA:
• ATV’s – Duration : 1:30 : Explore the surrounding area on a quad bike over adventurous terrain. You’ll reach the EL Encanto waterfall, where a swim awaits, before continuing on the property’s trails. You’ll cross several rivers and get your adrenalin pumping.
Days 7 and 8 : Uvita is a true transition between the biotopes of the Central Pacific and those of the South Pacific, between jungle and sea. The habitat is rarer, the beaches more deserted, the towns more like villages. The private reserves of Barú and La Merced, and the waterfalls of Nauyaca and Uvita are as much part of the region as the lure of the Pacific. From August to November, humpback whales calve in the warm, shallow waters of this part of the coast.
Driving time: 02:45 – 162 km
• 2 nights at hotel Finca Bavaria
– Accommodation: Estandar – 3 rooms for 2.

Days 9, 10 and 11 : In the south-west of the country, the gulf of the Osa peninsula is still barely visited. Yet it is a treasure trove of biodiversity. Adjacent to neighboring Corcovado Park, it’s a paradise for macaws and birds of all kinds. Monkeys are omnipresent, and tapirs and anteaters frequently roam the area.
At sea, humpback whales calve and raise their offspring sheltered from predators, and dolphins live here year-round.
Fishing is a veritable religion in the region.
The Osa Biological Corridor connects Corcovado Park with Piedras Blancas Park via the Golfo Dulce forest reserve. Here, wildlife roams freely, and what can be seen in Corcovado can also be seen in Puerto Jimenez or Golfito, covering 4,300 km2, or 8% of Costa Rica’s surface area!
