Costa Rica trip with English-speaking guide
A trip to Costa Rica accompanied by a local English-speaking driver-guide is a must, so you can travel with complete peace of mind. And who better than a Tico, a local, an ambassador for his country, to accompany you throughout your stay?
At Costa Rica Decouverte, our driver guides are all certified by the ICT (Costa Rican Ministry of Tourism) and are ALL naturalists. This allows you to visit and discover without missing out on the wonders of Costa Rica.
How many times have we heard people say to us: “I didn’t see anything at such and such a place?” and we, surprised, ask them: “Were you accompanied by a naturalist guide?” The answer is usually no.
Yes, not everyone can recognize the sounds of nature and get closer to animals. Knowing their habitat, knowing their songs, knowing their footprints – that’s all a good naturalist guide needs to know. And if he or she accompanies you as your driver throughout your trip, you’ll leave without the feeling of having missed out.
An English-speaking naturalist driver-guide is the luxury of a successful trip with a difference. Our guides are trained to adapt to your wishes and needs, and most of them have excellent contacts with our former customers. They’ll be at your service throughout your Costa Rica trip, guiding you where no tourist goes.
Sometimes, depending on the tour, you’ll even have the chance to share a moment of life with one of their cousins, grandfathers or friends, and you’ll have that intimate feeling of having experienced something different. Sharing a meal with their family, visiting a finca, discovering a little piece of local history in an indigenous cemetery, visiting an isolated school and taking part in the class or playing soccer with the local team… These are just a few examples of what our guides have already done for our travellers.

What could be more complete than traveling to Costa Rica with a local English-speaking guide to show you around the country?
In the Quetzal region, you can observe the sacred Mayan bird. Then, in the Uvita region and Marino Ballena Park, you can discover the Sierpe mangrove, the largest in the country. The fauna here is close and dense. You can also admire the nauyaca waterfall and cool off at its foot.
Afterwards, your guide will take you to a remote spot and a genuine vanilla hacienda. You’ll learn all about the cultivation, reproduction and harvesting of this coveted spice.
You’ll head a little further north, into the Monteverde cloud forest. The eponymous reserve, hummingbirds and orchids will fill you with wonder.
Finally, at Arenal, you’ll be delighted by Costa Rican culture and the region’s thermal waters.
